Things To Do This Easter In Wexford & Kilkenny
Easter holidays have arrived and the kids are delighted to have no homework
and two weeks off! If we’re lucky, the kids will entertain themselves with games
and a creative imagination but some of us may hear ‘I’m Bored, can we go somewhere?‘
Don’t worry, we have put together a list of places to entertain the kids on a budget. We chose Kilkenny and Wexford as these are the counties where our offices are based.
Wexford
Wells House
Wells House is a victorian house and gardens based in the heart of Wexford. It cost approx. €6.00 per car but when you are in the grounds there is a fantastic playground, a great woodland walk and much more! The staff are extemely helpful as most of us have visited Wells House before and it’s a lovely afternoon for the kids.
Kilmore Quay
I honestly love Kilmore Quay. On a sunny day you can’t ask for much more. You can walk around the memorial garden, stop off at the playground with the kids and taste some of the most delicious fish and chips in Wexford.
Ballycross Apple Farm
Ballycross is a winner all-round for adults and kids. Admission is free and it is open every Saturday and Sunday until the May bank holiday weekend. The beautiful
courtyard is home to many animals, some of which have been there for years.
You can buy Ballycross apples and apple juice and if you feel like a treat,
drop into the cafe for a coffee and crêpe.
Kilkenny
Nore Valley Park
Nore Valley Park is a family focused campsite with an open farm that is open to the public. Kids love it, the farm is full of the usual farm animal such as cows, sheep, ducks and more. There are also activities for adults and kids such as pedal go-karts and crazy golf.
Kilkenny Castle & Castle Park
Castle Park is perfect for a dry/sunny day. Bring a picnic and let the kids have fun
as they can play on the green. There is playground situated on the grounds and all equipment is suitable for kids aged between 2-14 years old. The water fountain
attracts the kids because they can drop a coin into the water and make a wish.
The duck pond is worth a visit too!
Keep an eye out this week for our handy easter egg hunt printables! This
will keep them busy over the easter weekend, lets hope it’s sunny!
