Want To bring Your Family Somewhere Interesting?!
The school holidays will be in full swing next week! My family are always looking for somewhere to go in Ireland, whether it’s on our doorstep or across the country. So, lets pack up the car and decide where we are going to go! Here are a few options.
Pure Adventure
Pure Adventure is based in Graiguenamanagh, Kilkenny. If you are interested in bringing your family kayaking this is the place for you. It’s relaxed fun on the river with plenty of fresh air. The day can be quite long depending on the tour you take but it’s good craic and the whole family will enjoy themselves.
Wells House
Wells House & Gardens is a beautiful place to visit in the heart of Wexford. Take a look at their website, there is so much to do! This is a great place for the family especially in the sunshine. Picnics, treasure hunts, archery, garden walks and great craft shops. You can also get take a tour of the house.
Eclipse Ireland
Eclipse Ireland is an activity and adventure centre in Kenmare, Co.Kerry. Ciarán’s family are a big fan of this centre. Plenty to do such as archery, horse riding, kayaking, fishing, hill walking and more. Check out their website, they offer accommodation on site but Kenmare has great accommodation too. Ciarán also recommended a lovely foodie place to visit called ‘Strawberry Field Pancake Cottage’. The pancakes are incredible and there is such a selection. It’s a family run business in Co. Kerry.
Tayto Park
Tayto Park is becoming one of Ireland’s best places to visit. Since the arrival of the ‘Cú Chulainn Coaster’ it’s attracting a much broader range of people as there is something for everyone. You have to pay admission on arrival and some attractions may cost a few quid so be prepared before you visit. I’m particularly impressed with the variety of attractions they have in the park. Not only can you have a fantastic time but you can’t go without having a Tayto Crisp sambo!
Lough Key Forest & Adventure Park
Lough Key looks incredible. It’s in Roscommon but definitely worth the trek across the country. This is one of the Sheridan Family’s favourite Irish destinations because you really need the whole family to get involved to make the trip worth while. The kids love the Boda Borg challenge, it probably better suited to children over 10 years old.
You can enjoy the Tree Canopy Walk, 19th Century Servant Tunnels, Moylurg Tower, Boda Borg, Lakeside Cafe, Adventure Play Kingdom, Forest & Parkland Trails.
