Places to go this Father’s Day

Whether you are planning Father’s day with your kids and your husband or for your own Dad, make it a day to remember. Sometimes dinner is a lovely way to celebrate but we have put together some alternative ideas for you guys. If you’re like me, I find it very difficult to buy a gift because they have everything they need. Spending time, laughing, eating and drinking can be the best way to celebrate.

Kayak Safari

If your dad or husband enjoys a little adventure, take him on a Kayak Safari. It’s loads of fun, you just never stop laughing and it’s a great bit of exercise. Bring a change of clothes and stop of a spot lunch or a drink. Make sure you have a designated driver to drive you home. Here are a few options for Kilkenny and Wexford.

Picnic in John F Kennedy Park

Go for a short or long walk around the park, pack a picnic and lounge about in the sunshine. If you have small kids, they will love feeding the little ducks or playing in the playground. This is quite suitable for all ages and generations of your family can meet up to enjoy the day.

Guinness Storehouse

If you haven’t already done the Guinness Storehouse tour, it’s a really enjoyable way to spend time in Dublin. The tour is quite incredible and you can enjoy a free pint at the top of the Storehouse, overlooking the city. It’s hard to believe we have this gem sitting in the middle of Dublin and some people haven’t seen it yet.

Castlecomer Discovery Park

Get involved in some archery, take on the over water zip line or just sit and watch your family enjoy the adventure. This is a popular choice for young families and teenagers because there is so much to do.
