Forget the cinema, these are a lot more practical

First impressions count and even more so on a first date. Here at Sheridan HQ we were chatting about some of the best first dates we have heard about. If you are planning on asking someone on a first date or if you would just like to treat your loved one here are a few of our favourites.

A stand up Comedy Gig

Laughing is definitely the sign of a successful date so why not guarantee it and go to a stand up comedy gig. It doesn’t have to be on a big scale most towns have local comedy gigs. You can relax sit back and enjoy the gig chatting intermittently. A super date as long as one of you doesn’t get singled out by the comedian.

Going for Dinner

Going out for a meal is an obvious choice but it doesn’t have to be an obvious evening. Show you have been listening by bringing them to their favourite chip shop. Book a really nice table in a restaurant they have been dying to try or try a tapas bar which is more casual and a great conversation starter.

A Walk on the Beach

This is an oldie but a goodie. It’s the perfect way to get some privacy to get to know each other. It also avoids any awkward split the bill conversations. Just make sure you prepare your date for the event so he/she is suitably attired and doesn’t walk out to the car in stilettoes and a dress!

Going to see a Music Gig

This is great for a number of reasons. You get to see your date’s taste of music. You can talk if you want to, but the music can drown out all the silent gaps and you can have a drink while you relax. Pick something middle ground avoid heavy metal or Jazz!
